

For our April drill weekend the Battalion traveled to Gettysburg National Historical Park. We spent the weekend with 2 National Park Service Rangers who took the Battalion around the Battlefield and taught them about the Battle and specific regiments that fought there and their stories. Command Chief Petty Officer Amanda Molloy will be attending Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Her Major will be Marine Science, Safety and Environment Protection.
She will be part of the US Coast Guards Auxiliary University Program with hopes of Commissioning as an Officer in the USCG upon graduation.

Leading Chief Petty Officer John Havens III will be attending The Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina in the Fall.
His Major will be Aeronautics.
He was awarded an ROTC Scholarship and will hopefully Commission as an Officer in the US Army upon graduation.

Battalion Chief Petty Officer Aquinas Clancy will be attending Syracuse University.
His Major will be Health and Exercise Science.
He was awarded an ROTC Scholarship and will hopefully Commission as an Officer in the US Army upon graduation.

Battalion Chief Petty Officer Nathan Weaver will be attending Rutgers University.
His Major will be Business.
He will be looking to be accepted into the US Coast Guards College Student Pre-Commissioning Initiative (CSPI) in his junior year with hopes of Commissioning as an officer on day.

Petty Officer 1st Class Gage Perrone will be attending Bergen County Community College in the Fall.
He has potential plans on enlisting in the United States Coast Guard and becoming a second generation "Coastie",

Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher Lista is enrolled at James Madison University.
His Major will be Political Science.

The Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal is awarded to a cadet who has distinguished themselves through outstanding leadership, honor, service, courage and patriotism. The Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal was awarded to PO1 John Havens.

The Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Sea Cadet Medal is awarded to a cadet who is a Petty Officer Third Class or above. This cadet must be in good academic standing, demonstrates community service, is of high moral character, demonstrates leadership as well as military bearing and is a member of the Battalions Color Guard team. The VFW Sea Cadet Medal was awarded to Chief Petty Officer Amanda Molloy.
The Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal is awarded to a cadet who has distinguished themselves through outstanding leadership, honor, service, courage and patriotism. The Daughters of the American Revolution Outstanding Cadet Medal was awarded to Seaman Amanda Molloy.
